Bare-metal · Root access · Sky-managed
Dedicated servers. Zero shared tenants.
Bare-metal Intel and AMD servers — your hardware, your resources, your configuration. Sky provisions, hardens, and manages everything. No neighbouring instances. No resource contention. Ever.
- Intel i5/i9 and AMD Ryzen 9 — real physical cores, not virtual
- 64–128 GB RAM, 2 × NVMe SSD in RAID — no shared storage pool
- Full root SSH access with Sky managing the base layer
- Sky setup, hardening, stack install, and monthly management included
Dedicated servers: three managed configurations.
Every plan includes Sky provisioning, OS hardening, full stack installation, daily encrypted backups, Cloudflare, and ongoing monthly management.

You need dedicated when shared won't do.
Managed hosting handles the basics. A VPS is the step up when you need dedicated resources, custom software, or full root access.
- High-concurrency sites (50k+ simultaneous users)
- Compliance requiring hardware isolation (HIPAA, PCI)
- CPU-intensive workloads: video, rendering, ML inference
- Large WooCommerce catalogues with heavy DB queries
- Multi-tenant SaaS platforms needing guaranteed I/O
- Charity platforms during high-volume donation campaigns
Tell us your current traffic, stack, and growth expectations. We’ll recommend the right option — and be honest if managed hosting or VPS would serve you better at lower cost.

Dedicated server questions.
A VPS (Virtual Private Server) runs on shared physical hardware — your instance is isolated at the software level, but the underlying CPU, RAM, and disk are shared with other virtual machines. A dedicated server is a physical machine assigned entirely to you. No other customers share the hardware. This means guaranteed CPU performance, consistent I/O speeds, and true resource isolation — critical for high-concurrency workloads and compliance requirements.
Yes. You receive SSH root access via key authentication. You can install any software, modify any configuration, and deploy however your team works. Sky manages the base OS security, stack, and backups — but you have full administrative control over everything.
The one-time setup fee covers: OS provisioning and hardening, full LEMP stack installation and tuning, Cloudflare integration and DNS configuration, backup pipeline to S3, monitoring setup and alert testing, and a written server runbook for your team. Setup fee is typically £299–499 depending on stack complexity. Quoted before you commit.
Yes. We handle full server migrations — files, databases, email configuration, DNS cutover. We run the new server in parallel, test everything on a preview URL, and only cut over DNS when you’re satisfied. Downtime is typically under 15 minutes for the DNS switch.
Dedicated server upgrades (more RAM, larger drives) require a hardware change — typically involving a server migration, which we manage end-to-end with minimal downtime. For more flexible scaling, a VPS might be a better fit initially. We’ll advise honestly based on your growth trajectory.
