We’re an engineering-led team of five. We’ve been shipping custom websites, commercial plugins, and Flutter apps for twelve years, mostly for UK charities, clinics, and independent operators who need software that actually works.

Engineers, not pushers

The person scoping your project is the person writing your code. No sales overlay, no offshore handoff. If a brief doesn’t add up, we say so.

Ship or sharpen, never stall

Fixed two-week sprints with concrete demos. If a sprint misses, we sharpen the plan the same day. We don’t hide behind status meetings.

Own the stack

WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, Flutter, Linux, Cloudflare. We run our own hosting so we can fix things at 10pm on a Sunday without waiting on a third party.

Write code others can read

Your site outlives us. Every project ships with documented builds, clear commit history, and infrastructure you could hand to another agency tomorrow.

Measure what matters

We instrument before we ship. Core Web Vitals, donation conversion, booking completion, we care about the numbers you care about, not agency vanity metrics.

Right-size the tool

Not every site needs a custom stack. Not every charity needs a £60k rebuild. We’ll tell you when WordPress + a plugin is enough, and when it isn’t.

Timeline

How we got here.

2013

Founded as a one-person studio

Anas started Sky Web Design as a freelance WordPress practice, working out of a co-working space in Leeds.

2016

First charity client, and first plugin

Built a custom donation plugin for a UK charity that became the genesis of SkyDonate. Hired the first engineer.

2019

SkyDonate 1.0

Released our first commercial plugin to the WordPress plugin directory. Passed 1,000 installs in eight months.

2021

App work begins

First Flutter project, a booking app for a London aesthetics clinic. The studio expanded to four engineers.

2023

Managed hosting launched

After years of fighting shared hosts, we stood up our own managed WordPress platform on Cloudflare.

2026

Today

Five-person studio. Eight commercial products. £2.4m raised through SkyDonate. Still picky about the work we take on.

Questions about working with Sky Web Design.

What kind of projects does Sky Web Design take on?

We focus on websites, custom WordPress plugins, Laravel or Next.js builds, mobile apps, SEO systems, and managed hosting. The common thread is practical engineering: projects that need reliable code, clear ownership, and a site or product that can keep growing after launch.

Do you only work with charities?

No. Charity work is a major part of our experience because of SkyDonate and Gift Aid projects, but we also work with clinics, training providers, service businesses, rental companies, and growing teams that need bespoke digital tools.

Can you support a project after launch?

Yes. We can provide hosting, maintenance, monitoring, small improvements, security updates, and continued product development. Some clients only need launch handover; others keep us involved as their technical team.

Will we own the code and design files?

Yes. Project source code, design files, documentation, and production access are handed over clearly. We avoid proprietary lock-in, so another competent developer can maintain the work if you ever move away.
